Multimedia Presentations – Development Methodology

- Concept Stage
Storyboards plot a course to production.
Color, styling and attitude shine through
in proof of concept.
No real product yet?
No problem. 3D illustration brings it to
life.
- Interviews
Prior to beginning any design effort, Binary Pulse meets with key project stakeholders to fully understand requirements for the presentation.
- Concept Definition and Estimate Refinement
This step entails the preparation of concept documentation that establishes direction for the presentation. This typically includes prototype sketches or digital composites that prove the visual approach as well as a narrative description of the presentation “storyline”. A refined estimate often accompanies this step.
- Development Stage
- Asset Collection
As the first part of development, Binary Pulse collects all relevant design assets appropriate to support the presentation, including text, logos, photos, and any existing audio and video assets.
- Scripting & Storyboarding
At this point, a script is developed that fleshes out the storyline. Whether spoken or simply a series of on-screen captions, the script lays out the narrative to be told. Storyboards provide a visual roadmap of the presentation’s key frames, illuminating how graphics transition from start to finish.
- Look and Feel
During this step, we establish the actual visual framework for the demonstration, including color scheme, typestyles, etc. We ensure that all graphic sensibilities are firmly consistent with the client brand.
- Proof of Concept
Once storyboards are approved, we demonstrate the behavior and attitude of the presentation. This typically includes type and transition effects, as well as any integrated animations, proven in one sequence. Approval of this proof enables us to proceed with production of the entire presentation.
- Production Stage
- Segment Review
During this stage, graphics, content, video and illustrations are created and assembled. If appropriate, voiceover and music is recorded and synced to the presentation. At appropriate intervals, segments are presented for review and fine-tuning.
- Testing Stage
At the close of the Production Stage, we present a fully functional prototype for internal and external testing.
- Completion Stage
- Delivery
Binary Pulse adjusts the demonstration based on client feedback and to achieve optimal performance. Once the prototype has been approved, we render/export files for delivery.
- Final Files
Binary Pulse provides final files for Web or CD/DVD distribution. Even thumbdrives!
Iterative builds refine the story and finesse timing.
Post-production adds voiceover, music and
motion graphics to complete the piece.
